Confirm base versus costume
Read the current form name and Bestiary entry before equipping a costume. After equip, compare action bar and team state. If only presentation changes and the Bestiary remains the base form, record it as a skin.
If the current client exposes a separate form or acquisition path, record that evidence before moving it to the roster. Visual difference alone is not enough.
Current availability
Open the current costume or skins interface and search the exact name. Check owned state, source hint, event, requirement, and whether the control is selectable. Another player wearing a costume proves ownership exists, not that the route is open now.
Use Active, Returning, Historical, and Unverified status. Seasonal costumes require a current event announcement and live route before being called active.
Effects and combat
Some costumes may alter ability colors, particles, or audio. Test with the base form first, then the costume in the same server and situation. Compare action label, cooldown feedback, reach, result, and movement.
Do not infer more damage from a larger effect. If the sound changes, make sure it does not hide or alter timing feedback before relying on it in combat.
Visual only
Color or model changes while current mechanics reproduce the base form.
Audio variant
Record changed cues without assigning a stat effect.
Ability visual
Compare result separately from particle size or color.
Unknown
Leave mechanics blank until a controlled current test is possible.
Seasonal and secret claims
Current videos and community posts can reveal hidden cosmetic routes, but verify upload date, exact game, server state, and whether the route still works. Do not copy a creator’s unique route table or call a cosmetic “secret” as a permanent classification.
Use the Seasonal Events page to verify event status. If a route requires an item, check Transmogrifying Items to distinguish costume and form change.

Write base form, costume name, source, event, active status, appearance, audio, ability visuals, Bestiary behavior, current date, and confidence. Unknown source or exact requirement stays blank.

Add a costume safely
Begin with a screenshot or current display that identifies both base form and costume name. Record the source hint, event, current availability, and whether the costume is selectable on an account that owns it. Test the base and costume action bars in the same server, then compare one movement action and one unique ability. If only colors, model, particles, or audio differ, preserve the base mechanics. If Bestiary identity changes, move the result into a form review instead of forcing it into this index. For an unavailable costume, keep its historical source and last confirmed date without promising a return.
Troubleshoot a missing costume
Check base form, ownership, event, shop or wardrobe tab, server version, and whether the name changed. A costume can remain owned while its acquisition route closes. A similar color shown by another player may be a different skin or effect. Rejoin before declaring removal, and do not spend currency on a guessed substitute. Record the locked or absent interface state so the next seasonal review has a clear starting point.
