Blackout is a severe facility power state. Community documentation reports total darkness or black fog, open doors, inactive buttons, reduced interface information, a dropped safe barrier, and Blackout-specific Raytraxians. Route knowledge matters more than visual reaction speed.
Confirm Blackout
Use multiple cues: near-total darkness, fog, electronics, door and button behavior, safe-zone barrier, event announcement, and missing name, health, or Omen information. Low graphics or a dark room can imitate one visual cue but not every system.
Do not depend on a fixed interval or duration. A mid-event join can hide the transition, and fresh versus old servers can differ after an update.
Reported Blackout changes
Human Blackout route
Stay close enough to teammates for room-name callouts. Keep one wall or known edge as orientation and avoid the center of a multi-exit room until the destination is chosen. Do not run backward over puddles, fins, crystals, props, or drops.
Use light tools only after testing current behavior. If the item reveals your position or locks movement, it may be unsafe during pressure. A ready weapon cannot protect every angle when labels and silhouettes are reduced.
Do not assume a visible player is Human. Confirm team and behavior before following.
Blackout Raytraxians
Community documentation lists Hebi, Buck, Jammer, Night Shade, Nightcrawler, Nuclear Rabbit, Sinox, and Wisp under Blackout. Confirm the event and exact transformation source.
Nightcrawler has a dedicated distinction between a goggle route and mutation or minion route. Use Nightcrawler before assuming every outcome has Pummel and Pursue.
Goggle search
Record public or private server, object, room, and result. Fixed chances are not asserted.
Mutation route
Record source form and resulting action bar separately from goggled Nightcrawler.
Other forms
Use current UI names; silhouettes can be misleading in Blackout.
Bestiary
Check entry progress without mixing route types or old counts.
Raytraxian Blackout pressure
Darkness conceals approach but also hides geometry and teammate position. Control known exits rather than chasing one silhouette through every connector. Stagger abilities and wait for a Human weapon to recover.
Do not stack in one doorway. A Human can still interrupt or create space. Leave when multiple ready weapons control the line.
Private-server practice
Community documentation reports Blackout commands such as blackout or bo, potentially gated by owner progress. Open current help. Tell participants before changing the event and know the reset path.
Practice one three-landmark route under normal power and Blackout. Record mechanical changes, not only color. Private-server object availability does not prove public spawn probability.
End-state check
Confirm UI, barriers, doors, buttons, and lights after the event. If one system remains changed, rejoin before deciding it is permanent. Record the server context for discrepancies.
Blackout mechanics, forms, UI effects, and command leads are community reported or corroborated, checked August 13, 2026. Exact timer, spawn chance, command requirement, and ability values remain unasserted.
Blackout discrepancy worksheet
Record event announcement, darkness or fog, UI fields present, barrier, one door, one button, light-tool behavior, and the route between two named rooms. For a Nightcrawler attempt, add public or private server, object, resulting name, and action bar. If goggles are absent, do not turn search time into a spawn rate. Rejoin a fresh server and compare only while Blackout is independently confirmed. After the event, verify that each changed system returned. A persistent open door can be rollout or map behavior rather than a longer event.
For a Human test, record teammate spacing and whether labels were visible before attempting a rescue. For a Raytraxian test, record the known exit and weapon state before using pursuit. If a flashlight changes the view, separate illumination from position reveal. These details make the guide useful across graphics settings without pretending every device renders Blackout identically.
